Martin Luther King Day of Service

January 18, 10am-2pm @ West Duwamish GS: Riverview

Join Nature Consortium and help restore important habitat in Seattle's largest remaining forest, the West Duwamish Greenbelt. Each work party begins with a short informal forest ecology workshop, and we spend the remainder of the time performing various restoration activities, including planting native trees and shrubs, removing invasive species, mulching previously-planted areas and more. Musicians perform for volunteers at many of our restoration work parties. RSVP and get directions to our current site at We work rain or shine. more

Seward Audubon: MLK Day 2016

Dr. King showed us the connection between the health of our environment and the health of our communities. Honor his legacy on this day of celebration, growth and renewal. Get involved in protecting our fragile urban forest and making sure all families and animals have safe, beautiful spaces to work, live and play. On this day, we plant native trees and shrubs in the meadow overlooking Lake Washington.Tools, gloves, training, snacks and coffee provided. Bring the whole family! High school students are eligible for four service credit hours. more
